Black Contractors Association of San Antonio Host Workshop Titled Business with Turner

The workshop aims to educate the general public on how to work with Turner Construction

San Antonio, Texas – The Black Contractors Association of San Antonio proudly announces that it is teaming up with one of America’s largest construction companies, Turner Construction to host a seminar on the 30th of January 2020 titled “Business with Turner.” The seminar will take place at the Barbara Jordan Community Center, 2803 East Commerce Street from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm CST.

Business with Turner is free and open to the general public. The purpose of the workshop is to educate the community on how to do business with Turner Construction. Since 1979, Turner Construction has awarded over $20 billion to minority and women business owners on projects and M/WBE joint ventures.

There will be many discussions during the workshop to help educate and create awareness about Turner Construction and how they can be of help. Several topics which will be covered in the workshop include:

● About Turner Construction

● Importance of Certifications

● Marketing Your Business

● Pre-construction (Estimating & Procurement)

● Daily Operations

This workshop is in line with the mission of the Black Contractors Association of San Antonio, which is to empower small, minority women, and veteran-owned businesses with the knowledge and tools to effectively compete in the contracting industry. While speaking about the workshop, the President of the Black Contractors Association of San Antonio, Joe Monroe, said, “Our mission for 2020 is to bring more exposure of our members to prime general contractors, government agencies, city and county entities. The Black Contractors Association of San Antonio will accomplish its goals by providing business networking opportunities, promoting individual company growth, providing workshops, and various training opportunities to enhance the capacity of our local minority businesses. The members of the BCA will be able to use this stepping stone for future opportunities to grow their business!”

This workshop is free to the public and members of the association. The workshop will highlight how Turner Construction does business with suppliers, its procurement process, what it buys, and current projects.
